About Our Laboratory
Our
laboratory facility is a
state of the art CLIA
certified pathology lab. Here, skin
tissue is examined for tumor presence in a procedure
called
Mohs Surgery.
First the skin is frozen and thinly sliced. Then the
slides are stained and then examined by our Mohs
Surgeon, who will mark if tumor is present and
remove only the area where cancer is noted. Mohs
Surgery has a
99% cure rate and is the best way to
remove certain types of skin tumors.
